For her photo shoot, Outliner Studio’s Mary Emily Davidson invited four clients to best showcase a variety of her work. From permanent lip blush to permanent eyebrows, all render a soft and oh-so-natural look. The studio was full of happy women singing her praises, and no one ever would have known these ladies had a stitch of permanent makeup. They walked in the door looking effortlessly beautiful, fresh, and naturally made up, like they somehow magically woke up this way. You see, as an accomplished painter with a degree in fine arts, Mary Emily offers defined yet natural eyebrows, a lip blush so soft you’d think her clients were born with it, eyeliner nothing like grandma’s tattooed lids, and more. Interestingly, no eyebrows or lips were smudged or disappeared as they nibbled, sipped, and powdered their noses throughout the day — just a light and natural all-day glow.
With her artistic skills, Mary Emily is referred by surgeons for those seeking a new career, as well as to those looking to advance their skill set and learn her highly renowned techniques at Outliner Studio. She uses specific numbing, micro-shading, mapping, and contouring techniques to visually increase the shape, color, and dimension for her plethora of services, and other artists are seeking her out regularly to learn more.
It’s common knowledge that eyebrows frame the face. Their importance can’t be underestimated, as eyebrows have the power to completely change the look of the face and overshadow minor flaws such as small eyes or eyes that are too far apart. They can also make us look less tired and younger. A well-defined brow creates a clean, refined, polished look without a drop of added makeup, which Mary Emily’s clients rave about.
And while some are brow-blessed, at some point most women suffer brow loss due to over-plucking, age, and even stress. Most have never had that beautifully shaped full brow we all crave and don’t have time for all the fuss. Thankfully, now there are options. Mary Emily is all about customizing her formulas and techniques for clients who want a little more fullness and symmetry or need a total brow reconstruction.
The point is, permanent makeup is a fantastic solution for a more “wake up made up” look, as she says. After all, who doesn’t want a little more color and definition in the lips or symmetry and fullness to the brows? “My treatments are very low maintenance and last anywhere from one to three years,” Mary Emily shares. “Once they begin to fade, a client can get touched up or just let the color fade and have it redone in the future.”
Not a fan of bold, waxy looking brows, Mary Emily is all about natural. “I use advanced techniques to enhance my clients’ best features and create a very natural look,” she shares. “I never want to change their look. I use a very gentle micro-shading technique to create soft, perfectly shaped brows which is customized for the particular client’s face. Avoiding flat-looking brows, my detailed application lends movement, depth, and dimension so that my services provide a lower maintenance routine for my clients. They always leave my studio happier and more confident than when they arrived,” she boasts.
As for the lips, fillers are no longer our only solutions. Over time, a woman’s lip line and color can darken, become hypopigmented, or uneven. By adding the slightest amount of color or lip blush, Mary Emily can define, emphasize, or correct the color, giving the appearance of more volume in the lips. Her gentle micro-needling often helps with wrinkles around the mouth that occur with aging, too. The effects are instant with no recovery or downtime, and now one of Mary Emily’s most requested services. Permanent lip blush is all the rage and results in a fuller, more youthful pout that is maintenance free outside of a biannual color boosting appointment. We relish the idea of not having to carry around lipstick anymore!
Mary Emily is surgeon-endorsed and referred to by many doctors across the Southeast, with clients traveling from far and wide for her paramedical micropigmentation. “One of the most fulfilling services I offer is providing post-mastectomy patients or those who have experienced traumatic breast surgery with ultra-realistic 3D areola tattoos or camouflaging breast scars using permanent makeup,” Mary Emily shares. “It helps my clients feel whole after their long, tough journey.”
Knowing her experience as an artist is vital in her ability to deliver flawless, natural looks that give her clients newfound confidence and the gift of time, Mary Emily is a bright spot in a sea of beauty options.
