With a successful hair care line under his belt, hair master Phrankey Lowery has done it again. In partnership with his treasured esthetician, Ashley Jones, these beauty gurus combined their skills to create an exclusive skin care line that fills in the gaps and addresses the specific issues we face in the South. On shelves soon, this match made in youthful skin heaven shares their pilgrimage, products, promises and more.

If you know Phrankey Lowery, the owner and operator of Mobile’s top salon, Studio PH, you know he is talented, kind, and funny. When asked about his role in the salon, he jokes, “I am the owner, stylist and head janitor.” In business for over 20 years, Phrankey and his first-rate team offer most hair services, skin care treatments, manicures, and more. Always looking to deliver the best possible services and products, he is excited to introduce his new skin care line that he developed with his esthetician, Ashley Jones.
With years of skin care experience, Ashley shares, “I began my esthetician journey in 2010 through an apprenticeship that sparked my love for the industry. Seizing every opportunity to take classes and learn about various product lines and treatments, I expanded my certifications to include chemical peels and microdermabrasion. I also worked for a top skin care company for many years.” However, when she arrived at Studio PH, skin care was not on the menu. “Ashley is passionate about skin care and we both knew it would be a hit with our clientele. I went all in last year and doubled the size of the salon to accommodate all the needs of this exciting and growing business,” Phrankey adds.
Realizing there was an opportunity to develop their own skin care line, Phrankey adds, “We noticed that every line we used or looked at incorporating was missing something, and we wanted to fill in those gaps to better serve our clients. While the process was somewhat chaotic, I started consulting with several of the labs I worked with to create the Studio PH hair care line. From there, I was connected to the labs that could help us create what we wanted — a first class skin care line.”
Understanding that the Southern climate and environmental factors create unique challenges not commonly addressed in mass products, Phrankey and Ashley knew where the gaps existed and spent time to develop the right solutions. “We started brainstorming about products that would be beneficial to our clients five years ago. As we discussed our goals and started to research, we realized we needed an unbeatable eye cream, a serum to foster hydration, and a serum to correct acne scarring and uneven tone and texture. Our special hyaluronic acid serum and the niacinamide serum are incredible, especially considering how much time we all spend in the sun. Things just snowballed from there and Phrankey’s experience in formulating products was a huge help in this process,” Ashely shares.
Dedicated to finding the best formulas, Ashley adds, “Ingredients such as niacinamide standout because of its versatility for almost any skin type and concern. Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin that helps visibly minimize enlarged pores, tighten lax or stretched out pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines and wrinkles, diminish dullness, and more.” Knowing that local women deserve the strongest collagen producing products, Phrankey adds, “We incorporated Collagen type 1 and 11, a lipid-rich protein composed of three identical peptide chains that offer intense hydration and the ability to correct the signs of aging. We also chose fibroblasts which are the cells that make collagen and elastin, two types of important proteins that the keep the skin moist and maintain the strength and flexibility of the skin.”
No easy feat, Ashley’s decade of working with various skin care products was a big help, too. “Working for a pharma skincare line for years gave me the insight and experience needed to help build this line. While we use a lot of Circadia products, we noticed many gaps that we can now address with our new products to deliver the best possible results. And the best part is that they are affordable!” Ashley tells us.
This process was a brave endeavor and Ashley adds, “Phrankey and I make a great team. Luckily, we have amazing co-workers and clients who tested the products and that’s when we knew we got them right. I’m results driven and won’t settle for just any line. Helping others is my passion and I want each client to love the skin they are in. Once a seed is planted in Phrankey’s mind, the sky’s the limit. He has a vision for success and his glass is always half full.” And do it they did. Summarizing, Pharankey says, “We spent five years perfecting the formulas as Ashley and I are not afraid to say ‘no, absolutely not’ until we get what we want. While that may have added time to the development, we absolutely exceeded even our own expectations in the end. I’m not only proud of what we’ve created, I can’t wait to share these products with the men and women of the Bay.”
