NATALIE & CARSON

October 28, 2023

As a former intern at Access, we’re big fans of Natalie Adcock. Smart, capable, and caring, Natalie won us over immediately. Now the Assistant Director of Human Resources at Cardiology Associates, it’s no surprise that Carson McGraw from Camden, AL, fell for her, too. A financial advisor at Equitable Advisors, he shares, “I knew she was the one after our first date. I could tell that we were raised with the same values, and that she would be someone I could communicate with in any situation. I appreciate how driven and hardworking she is, and our relationship is always fun. We both know how to keep each other laughing.”

Fondly recalling their first meeting, Natalie adds, “We met at our friends Margaret and Ross Hare’s wedding in 2020. I’ve always looked up to my parents, Donna and Travis, marriage and I immediately noticed that he shared many of the qualities I admire in my father. As I got to know him, I realized how loyal he is and that he’s truly never met a stranger. Carson keeps me laughing and there’s never a dull moment with him!”

Because Christmas is Natalie’s favorite time of the year, Carson proposed on December 28th in front of her Christmas tree. After celebrating with family and friends, Natalie started wedding planning. “We chose to have our reception at Springhill College’s Stewartfield. The Avenue of the Oaks is such a beautiful part of Mobile, and we wanted our friends and family who have never been there to experience it,” Natalie explains.

As for her vision, Natalie shares, “I’ve always loved anything mirrored and Brooke and Jeannie from Events Detailed found unique mirrored food tables, a mirrored bar, and a mirrored stage front. They also hung lights throughout our reception tent that brought everything together. I knew I wanted Southern elegance, and with the help of my mother they did a great job,” she shares.

Dennis Harris is a well-known local florist and a close family friend of the Adcock’s. “With a fall wedding date, we wanted to incorporate white pumpkins and we let him run with it. I was blown away when I saw the venue for the first time. Clifton Morrissette was one of our first calls and we served all his signature dishes like fried oysters, beef tenderloin, griddled pimento cheese, tuna wontons, Thai chicken bites, and more. We served beignets and chocolate Chrissies as a late-night snack, too. My dad was instrumental with the menu planning and ensuring that none of our guests would have to wait at the bar. Mark Kidd and his team did an exceptional job,” Natalie tells us.

Torn between 2 gowns at Carriage House Weddings in Birmingham, Natalie shares, “One was full lace, and the other was Mikado silk with a long sleeve lace bolero. I slept on it and decided to go with the silk dress and lace bolero. I found my veil at Carriage House Weddings and wore my mother’s pearl earrings and my grandmother’s pearl ring.”

Having a large bridal party of 13 friends and family members each was cause for several celebrations. “My bridesmaids’ luncheon was hosted at Suzanne Lyell’s beautiful home, and my mother’s good friends who have known me since I was a child were kind enough to host and put so much thought into everything. Mrs. Suzanne even painted a picture of The Avenue of the Oaks and Stewartfield for each of my bridesmaids. Our rehearsal dinner at The Carnival Museum was perfect for guests who had never been to Mobile or Mardi Gras. They were able to tour the museum and see part of what makes Mobile so special,” Natalie explains.

After the wedding, Natalie and Carson enjoyed a honeymoon at the Cocobay Bay Resort in Antigua. “In addition to relaxing, we took a guided boat tour around the entire island and learned some of the history,” Natalie recalls. Happy in their careers and to call Mobile home, the couple currently resides in Midtown.
