Lady Margaret Andrews Stuardi
– Infant Mystics –
Lady Margaret Ann, a native of Mobile and graduate of McGill-Toolen, hails from a family deeply entrenched in the Mardi Gras culture. Her grandmother, Ann Louise Roberts Stuardi, paved the way in 1963 as a Lady-in-Waiting in the Mardi Gras Court and Leading Lady of the Infant Mystics and Athelstan Dominoes Balls. The family’s Mardi Gras lineage continued with her aunt Ann Marie Stuardi Brewster, who was Leading Lady of IMs in 1996, and her older sister, Katherine Cecile Stuardi, who served on the Court in 2022. Lucy Boeer Stuardi, Margaret Ann’s cousin, followed suit as a Lady in the 2022 Court and Leading Lady of the Infant Mystics Ball. The stage is set for Margaret Ann to continue this storied tradition as the Leading Lady of the Infant Mystics Ball, adding another illustrious chapter to the family’s carnival history.
For Margaret Ann and her family, Mardi Gras isn’t just an annual event—it’s a family tradition. Almost every extended family member participates in various Mardi Gras organizations. Margaret Ann recalls fond childhood memories of attending parades with her cousins, watching parents and even grandparents take part in the revelry. Her father, Claude Roberts Stuardi, shares stories of the special bond he and his brother formed while riding with their father in the Infant Mystics—a cherished tradition that has spanned generations.
As Lady Margaret Ann steps into her role as the Leading Lady, she expresses excitement about joining the ranks of her grandmother, aunt, and cousin. “I am extremely excited to be Leading Lady of an organization that my family has been involved in for years,” she eagerly shares. “It is a family tradition that is so special to me and I hope it will continue within our family in the future.”
She currently pursues a major in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science at The University of Alabama. Her academic journey is adorned with accolades, including the Collegiate Scholar Scholarship, continuous Dean’s List and President’s List recognitions, and membership in the Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Organization. As a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, she served on various committees and contributed to organizations like Beat Auburn Beat Hunger, BAMA Catholic, and the Pre-Physical Therapy Society. Passionate about her future career in physical therapy, Margaret Ann has accumulated over 100 hours of hands-on experience by shadowing professionals in Alabama and Nashville. She plans to attend Physical Therapy graduate school.
The Bay area holds a special place in Margaret Ann’s heart. Growing up spending weekends on the water with family and cousins, she reminisces about boating, outdoor dinners, and the sheer joy of showering in bay water. “The Bay area has grown to mean so much to me over the years,” she recalls. “It is the only place I truly feel at home. When I come home from college, I love going on boat rides with my parents no matter the time of year. Living on the water has allowed my family to spend time together relaxing on the wharf or in the boat fishing.”
Margaret Ann’s personal style is a blend of modern classics with a touch of edge. Influenced by icons like Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O, and Blake Lively, she curates a wardrobe that reflects timeless femininity with a contemporary flair. Her Mardi Gras wardrobe, carefully curated with the help of her mother, Celeste Thomas, and Judy Cleveland, showcases stunning looks like the IM Scroll Party Dress, IM Ball Gown, and Camellia Ball Dress. The pièce de résistance is the scalloped duchess silk train designed by Homer McClure—a floral masterpiece adorned with Swarovski crystals and pearls, encapsulating the essence of elegance and tradition.
